if i were you, id still call and file the info with the police....cause i PROMISE she is doing the same. first story in, ususally wins.

i had a driver that worked for me in the EXACT situation as you. guy that hit him, left first, called the cops with a bogus story siting my driver as the one at fault...long and short, i wrote him an $8,000 check.

Be careful in this situation...there's a very old insurance scam where the driver in front of you (who slams on their brakes) and the driver who rear ends you are working together...they stage the entire accident to make it look like your fault somehow. I'm not trying to worry you, but where the first driver took off like that, it makes me suspicious. Google "rear end insurance scam" for more info.
